The Three Kingdoms Puzzle is my Nemesis. It's Frustratingly Wonderful with Such a Simple Concept, but it's Incredibly Difficult to Solve - it's Everything You Want in a Puzzle!
The Three Kingdoms is the most frustratingly wonderful, seemingly-impossible, love-it-hate-it-love-it, simple-but-difficult puzzle I have ever attempted.
It’s by far the best $12 I’ve ever spent. I’ve definitely got my money’s worth, that's for sure!
To play, you slide the pieces around the board. It’s similar to a Rubik’s cube, except instead of moving pieces around a cube, you have to shuffle the pieces on the board so that the largest piece (the king), can exit through the gap at the front of the board tray. This can be achieved through many different solutions, however the fastest possible solution is 81 moves.
It’s been 6 months since I bought this puzzle and I still haven’t solved it.
It’s obviously possible though, because Miranda has solved it (although she doesn’t know how!), and we’ve had an 11 year old come into the store and solve it as well. Total respect to that legend!
As for me, I’m just refusing to surrender. Or to look up the solution online. I will get this!
It’s such a wonderfully challenging little puzzle, and totally budget friendly at just $12.
